"Lesley's Dream Row" - a sea shanty

Lesley's dream row

To the tune of Donkey Riding...

On June the third we leave Burnham town,
to sail round Britain's holy ground.
We won't let nothing get us down,
Whilst sitting in our row boat.

I'm doing this row for the lifeboatmen,
All volunteers and they're there when,
They get the call to rescue again.
No matter what the weather.

All together we're gon'na row,
round the coast, away we'll go.
Pull together, let's heave ho,
on our great adventure.

From Burnham round to the Isle of Wight,
When we get to Cowes, what a beautiful sight.
Rowing through the day and night,
This'll be our first stop-over.

From Cowes to Padstow, then Dublin town,
From a hobby to a guiness, it might go down.
Oban next stop on the round,
But not via Tobermmory.

All together we're gon'na row,
round the coast, away we'll go.
Pull together, let's heave ho,
on our great adventure.

Our aim to cover eighteen hundred miles,
When we get to the end we'll be all smiles.
I've done it before on a bi-cy-cal.
But never in a rowboat.

Lochinver next, then round the top,
Past John O'Groats, but we won't stop.
Till Fraserburgh in the land of the jocks,
We'll have neeps and tatties.

All together we're gon'na row,
round the coast, away we'll go.
Pull together, let's heave ho,
We're bound on Lesley's row. Ouh!

Down the coast past the Firth of Forth,
Past Berwick, Redcar and all points north.
At Scarborough we'll venture forth,
On the last leg of our journey.

Will you be in Burnham town,
To see us home, for the crouch we're bound.
Our journey over, safe and sound,
We hope at the end of Ju-ly.

All together we're gon'na row,
round the coast, away we'll go.
Pull together, let's heave ho,
on our great adventure.

All together we're gon'na row,
round the coast, away we'll go.
Pull together, let's heave ho,
on our great adventure.
